If you thought you’ve seen it all with winter and Christmas specials in Berlin, you’re wrong. Sure, a snow-covered food hall or a Stranger Things Christmas market will put a sparkle in the eyes of young and old alike – but there’s even more waiting outside the city limits. Once in the car or on the train and after a short journey of around an hour, the winter adventure feels even more intense than staying in the city. Whether it’s an authentic winter forest on a rooftop hut with 400 real conifers and a city panorama or a skating disco on a 1,000 m² ice rink – there are real Christmas surprises for your free time around Berlin. And now comes another highlight: from today, December 19, 2025, the Lichterzauber in Beelitz City Park is open again. With a new interpretation of fascinating light experiences and installations, you can look forward to special winter specials.

Not that Beelitz doesn’t already have a lot to offer all year round with its adventurous treetop path and the Heilstätten as a lost place. But the light installations in the town park make the town a very special destination this season. As night falls, some of the most beautiful light installations in Brandenburg unfold here. This year’s highlights include the Snow Queen show, a mystical dream path, the Northern Lights Express, the Cinderella carriage and much more. As you stroll through the city park, you will encounter sparkling magic at every turn, while nature and architecture harmonize perfectly with the light and sound installations. Treat yourself to a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle of the city and let the sparkle guide you – into other worlds.
Here you will discover incomparable photo spots for souvenir pictures with the whole family. A Christmas like no other – and one that you won’t soon forget. Every day from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., soft piano sounds create an atmospheric ambience and special acoustics. Twice a day, at 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm, the Snow Queen whirls her ice crystals through the air on stage.
A very special highlight also awaits you on January 10, 2026: the big mini torchlight concert at 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m., where flashlights are swung together to atmospheric live music by Rumpelstil. Moments that neither young nor old will forget. But it’s not just the lights that provide moments of happiness here – the treats also leave nothing to be desired. Hot cocktails with and without a shot will warm you up from the inside, and there will also be Feuerzangenbowle and eggnog. And of course, the glowing candy floss that no child wants to do without is back in 2025.
The Lichterzauber is open until January 4 and then again from January 8 to 11.
