Snow is simply part of a real winter wonderland. In Berlin, however, this has been a rarity for many years. Unfortunately, according to the meteorologists at the German Weather Service (DWD), the prospects of a white Christmas in 2025 are rather poor. Temperatures are actually surprisingly mild for this time of year, but are expected to drop again slightly around the holidays. Fortunately, the atmospheric Christmas markets such as the Nordic Fairytale Christmas or dreamlike light installations such as the Festival of Lights still provide a real holiday feeling. And even if we can’t go sledging through mountains of snow in Berlin, there’s still plenty of winter fun to be had: you can go ice skating on the beautiful ice rinks or try your hand at curling. So there’s no need to miss out on that winter feeling in the capital. If you’re still missing the last bit of magic for that perfect winter feeling – a touch of snow – then we know the ideal place: At KERB Berlin on Potsdamer Platz, snowflakes trickle down every day.

Originally founded as a street food collective in London in 2012, KERB also opened in Berlin in May of this year. In the former IMAX cinema of the Sony Center, a huge international selection ensures a diverse culinary offering within the food hall. From homemade kimchi to award-winning buttermilk fried chicken, a stand by the world’s first restaurant with a cheese conveyor belt, tacos, Mexican specialties, Chinese crêpes and much more, there is something for every taste. Amidst these countless delicacies, you can not only treat yourself to something good for your stomach in winter, but also increase your anticipation for the festive season.
With delicious street food and a mulled wine, hot chocolate or hot toddy in your hand, you’ll quickly forget that you’re in the middle of Berlin and instead find yourself in a winter wonderland. During the week, the snow trickles down daily at 5 pm and 9 pm, and at the weekend at 2 pm, 5 pm and 7 pm. But watch out: The magical snowfall only lasts a few minutes – so it’s worth being on time.
