What time of year shows more beautiful colors than autumn? Yellow, red, orange – when the leaves fall and the paths are bathed in harmonious tones that look like something out of a fairy tale. Autumn in Berlin offers everything your heart desires: from relaxing walks in the parks to varied activities. You can warm up in the city’s sauna oases or experience autumnal diversity at street festivals such as the Schöneberg Pumpkin Festival. If you fancy a little excursion outside the city, there are numerous great destinations throughout Germany. And for all those who want to enjoy a unique view of the autumn landscape, we have a special tip very close to Berlin: the treetop path “Baum & Zeit” in Beelitz offers a breathtaking view of an endless, colorful sea of colors at a height of 36 meters – an experience that will make your autumn excursion unforgettable.

A 700-metre-long treetop path winds its way along the grounds of the Beelitz sanatoriums. With an observation tower at a height of around 40 meters, you can hike where otherwise only birds fly. You can enjoy the best views from the top level of the tower – both the path and the tower are accessible via an elevator. The path was extended in 2020: a newly designed tour now offers unobstructed views of the Heino-Schmieden buildings from the first construction phase (built until 1902) and also offers a unique bird’s eye view of the south side of the surgery.

New highlights such as the Sky Boa and the giant hammock guarantee fun for the whole family – from young to old. On the treetop path, you can enjoy a breathtaking view from Berlin to Fläming. Since 2015, the historic “Alpenhaus” World War II ruins have been impressively integrated on the top level of the observation tower.
To reach the treetop walk in Beelitz, you can take the regional train RE7 towards Dessau and get off at Beelitz-Heilstätten station. From there, it is only a 5-minute walk to the entrance. If you are traveling by car, take the A9 to the Beelitz-Heilstätten exit and follow the signs to the treetop walk.
