The golden season of the colorful sea of leaves, which entices us to picturesque autumn excursions or colorful pumpkin farms and festivals, not only means happy and fluffy moments – it is also the scariest time of the year: Halloween is just around the corner! The dark days are approaching, the spiders are busy weaving their webs, the ghosts are lifting their sheets – the spookiest evening of the year is drawing inexorably closer.
Halloween has now become an integral part of the annual calendar of events in Berlin too. Do you already have your costumes ready? Are you ready to be spooked? We’ve picked out a few events and activities for you that will make your blood run cold.
1. get lost in a lost place on Halloween

Some places are abandoned for a reason … which makes them all the more exciting to explore! The only question is: where do you want to get lost in the dark? Perhaps in the sanatoriums of Beelitz, where scenes from “The Pianist” were filmed? Or in a former tuberculosis clinic that served as the backdrop for the German horror film “Heilstätten”? Or how about the city’s zombie hospital, an abandoned ghost consulate – or one of the many other mysterious locations? No matter what you choose: Enter at your own risk!
2. enjoy goosebump moments at “This is Halloween”

Experience Halloween with an eerily beautiful show full of goosebumps and thrills, when musical meets horror and rock music meets breathtaking acrobatics. Six stage professionals thrill the audience live with singing, dancing and spectacular artistry. The stage itself is transformed with great attention to detail into a spooky crypt, decorated with atmospheric Halloween decorations.
Look forward to a colorful mix of well-known musicals such as Dance of the Vampires, The Phantom of the Opera, The Rocky Horror Show, Sweeney Todd, Wicked and The Addams Family as well as hits by Michael Jackson, Evanescence and The Rasmus. Come dressed up and be whisked away into the fascinating world of vampires, witches, zombies and other dark creatures. The show celebrates its premiere at the Kulturhaus Spandau on October 25. You can expect a varied evening full of suspense, thrilling scenes and lovingly staged moments.

3rd Halloween for the little ones in the Schultheiss Quartier

This year, the Schultheiss Quartier will once again be a spooky place full of surprises for Halloween. There will be a varied program for children and families over two days: On October 25, the program includes activities such as face painting, Halloween hairstyling, pumpkin designing and a photo campaign where the scariest outfits can be captured. On October 31, other attractions include glitter tattoos, a Halloween bakery and the creative design of trick-or-treat fabric bags. Zombie popcorn will provide the perfect spooky snack on both days.
4. immerse yourself in a historical serial killer event at the Dungeon

This year, a very special Halloween treat awaits you at the Berlin Dungeon: the capital is the first dungeon in the world to bring a historical event to life with fascinating hologram technology. “The Case of Marie N.” unfolds right before your eyes – the last victim of Berlin serial killer Carl Großmann, Marie Nitsche, guides you through the gruesome events herself. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the haunting, suffering and fear are brought to life in an impressive way. The story of the Berlin murderer of women, Carl Großmann, has been an integral part of the Dungeon since 2013. This time, however, the focus is on the victim. The new production will remain a permanent part of the program after Halloween. The case of Marie N. will be retold in a total of three rooms and settings – as a captivating live experience at movie level.
5. scare yourselves at the Halloween cinema

Halloween cinema is simply part of the spooky experience! At the CineStar cinema in the Kulturbrauerei, there are great Halloween-themed highlights throughout October. With films such as “The Nun II” (in cinemas since 21.09.), “The Exorcist: Confession” (from 13.10.), “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (from 26.10.) and “Halloween Park” (from 26.10.), you have a gruesomely beautiful selection to choose from. There’s a special treat for the little ones on October 31: from 2pm to 7pm, every movie ticket comes with a small gift to snack on.
6. get the best pumpkin at the largest pumpkin farm in Berlin and Brandenburg
Halloween feeling guaranteed! At Kürbishof Klaistow, a sea of over 100,000 pumpkins of 500 varieties awaits you until November 9 – artfully decorated under the motto “Power Women”. The big Halloween event takes place on October 25: children’s costume disco, lantern parade and campfire with bread and music. Scary pumpkin carvings provide an extra spooky atmosphere. Perfect for families, friends or anyone who wants to enjoy the fall to the fullest! Find out all the details here!

9. save yourselves on the dance floor of the Kulturbrauerei

A spooky paradise on all levels! On Friday, October 31, the Soda resident DJs will be creating a spooky party atmosphere. The spooky SODA and the crossover floor in the Kesselhaus are the perfect location for a Halloween party. For the real Halloween fever, there will be 90s & 2000s hits on the Move iT! floor in the Kesselhaus on both evenings. Of course, there will also be plenty of beer, an exuberant atmosphere and a party night that will not soon be forgotten.
10. take a stroll through Berlin’s most beautiful cemeteries

There are a lot of cemeteries in Berlin! No wonder, given the large number of people who live and unfortunately also die here. Walking through the resting places or resting on them may seem a little macabre in many places, but it is quite normal, especially in Berlin. They are perfect for a quiet and contemplative stay, undisturbed by the otherwise omnipresent noise of a metropolis. These special cemeteries are absolutely worth a visit!
11. get locked in an escape room

There is no escape! The door slams shut. You and your closest friends are at your mercy unless you manage to free yourselves. We’re talking, of course, about escape rooms, which are particularly popular at Halloween time and which Berlin is teeming with.
Can you escape the clutches of the Maniac, outwit Dr. Kannibal and find out what’s wrong with Room 1408? We wouldn’t put our money on it!
12. off to the best masquerade party in town!

Still looking for the ultimate Halloween party? Then head to the Aquahöfe, where the gates to Berlin’s darkest parallel world will open on October 31. Expect extraordinary creatures, masked figures and nocturnal souls that will make every Halloween fan’s heart beat faster. House, mainstream and techno beats will provide the perfect mix in several areas – including radio-ready surprises. Creativity is rewarded: the best costume of the evening wins a prize. So come to the House of Horror and immerse yourself in the Halloween universe of the Aquahöfe!
