Halloween is just around the corner! The dark time is approaching, the spiders are busy weaving their webs, the ghosts are washing their sheets – the most gruesome evening of the year is just around the corner. Halloween is now also an integral part of the annual program in Berlin. Have you got your costumes together yet? Are you ready to learn to be scared? We’ve picked out a few events and activities for you that will make you break out in a cold sweat.
Visit one of Berlin’s most haunted places on Halloween
In addition to the many lost places in the capital, there are also some places in the middle of the city that are associated with scary stories. Do you dare to look for the alchemist on Peacock Island, whose ghost is said to be up to mischief here? Or would you rather investigate the legend of the monk Roderich, who haunts the ruins of the monastery?
Halloween party in the abandoned factory building
To get to the event, you have to find the hidden entrance on Greifswalder Straße. From here, a spooky path leads you to an abandoned factory building, hidden by the houses of the city. One of Berlin’s most interesting Halloween parties is taking place in its basement this year. Dancing to house, pop, hip hop and techno.
Musikbrauerei, Greifswalder Str. 23A, Prenzlauer Berg | October 31 from 10 p.m.
Halloween for the little ones in the Schultheiss Quartier
This year, the Schultheiss Quartier will once again be a spooky place full of surprises for Halloween. There will be a varied program for children and families over two days: On October 26, the program includes activities such as face painting, Halloween hairstyling, pumpkin designing and a photo opportunity to capture the spookiest outfits. On October 31, there will be further attractions, including glitter tattoos, a Halloween bakery and creative trick-or-treat fabric bags. Zombie popcorn will provide the perfect spooky snack on both days.
Schultheiss Quartier, Turmstraße 25, Moabit | October 26 and 31 | More info

Enjoy a candlelight concert
Candlelight and Halloween: name a better combination! On October 28, the Church of St. Paul the Apostle will be illuminated by the glow of thousands of candles while Tim Burton’s soundtracks fill the room. Look forward to music from The Night Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Sweeney Todd and more. Tickets won’t be available for long.
Get spooked at the Halloween movie theater
Halloween movies are simply part of the spooky experience! For several years now, some cinemas in Berlin have been offering Halloween nights or other events based around thriller and horror classics. We have found out where you can really learn to be scared.
Get the best pumpkin at a pumpkin farm in the Berlin area
The pumpkin harvest is a little easier on the nerves. You can hunt for the perfect pumpkin for all occasions at various pumpkin festivals and in the farm stores of farmers in Brandenburg! Whether for cooking, decorating, carving or as part of your costume – everyone will find something here.
Discover the dark side of the city on a spooky tour
Dive deep into the dark side of Berlin on a spooky tour through nocturnal and eerie Berlin. In a 90-minute walk with interactive elements, find out who turned people into canned meat and which places in Berlin are cursed. Click here for tickets for the tours.

Kulturbrauerei, Kesselhaus, Prenzlauer Berg | October 30 from 10 p.m.
Take a stroll through Berlin’s most beautiful cemeteries
There are lots of cemeteries in Berlin! No wonder, given the large number of people who live and unfortunately also die here. Walking through the resting places or resting on them may seem a little macabre in many places, but it is quite normal, especially in Berlin. They are perfect for a quiet and contemplative stay, undisturbed by the otherwise omnipresent noise of a metropolis. These special cemeteries are absolutely worth a visit!
Get locked in an escape room
There is no escape! The door slams shut. You and your closest friends are at your mercy unless you manage to free yourselves. We’re talking about escape rooms, of course, which are particularly popular at Halloween time and which Berlin is teeming with.
Can you escape the clutches of the Maniac, outwit Dr. Kannibal and find out what’s wrong with Room 1408? We wouldn’t put our money on it!
Get lost in a lost place on Halloween
Some places are abandoned for a reason… Which makes them all the more exciting to explore! The only question is where you want to get lost in the dark – Do you need to see the Heilstätten von Beelitz? Do you want to explore the southern grounds? Do you think there’s a message waiting for you in the old Iraqi embassy ? In any case, remember: enter at your own risk!
