Some of you might still be caught up in that summer vibe, but we have to admit it: Fall is just around the corner —and with it, the season of pumpkin displays finally begins again. After all, the colder season doesn’t mean any less fun, because there’s plenty to experience in and around Berlin this fall — especially for pumpkin fans! For more than two months, the Klaistow Asparagus and Adventure Farm transforms into a vast autumn landscape. More than 100,000 pumpkins are used for the exhibition and impressively displayed throughout the grounds.

Particularly impressive are the giant figures and installations, whose frames are adorned with countless pumpkins. This year, the focus is on the world of film. The 2026 pumpkin exhibition is themed “Pumpkin Goes to Hollywood” and, fittingly, features well-known characters and motifs from film and pop culture. One of the announced motifs, for example, is Mickey Mouse. The exhibition’s theme changes every year. In 2025, the pumpkin show was themed “Power Women.” At that time, Frida Kahlo, Bertha Benz, and Pippi Longstocking, among others, were depicted as giant pumpkin figures.
The more than 100,000 pumpkins on display are by no means the only impressive figure. The exhibition also features a large variety show, presenting nearly 500 different pumpkin varieties from all over the world . Among them are some varieties you’d be hard-pressed to find in a regular supermarket. On display, for example, are the Japanese Futsu Kurokawa and the blue-gray Blue Banana from Guatemala. The pumpkins also vary considerably in shape and size. While some specimens weigh just a few dozen grams, certain bottle gourds can reach a length of more than one meter. Another eye-catcher is the giant pumpkin pyramid on the grounds. Anyone who’d like to take some pumpkins home afterward will find more than 30 different varieties of edible and ornamental pumpkins at the pumpkin market, all grown locally.

A special highlight of the season is scheduled for September 27, 2026. From 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., the farm will host the Grand Pumpkin Weigh-In Championship , which the organizer describes as the world’s largest pumpkin weigh-in championship. Last year already demonstrated just how large the pumpkins on display there can get. In 2025, the winning pumpkin weighed an incredible 1,034.8 kilograms—more than a metric ton. Numerous giant pumpkins are expected again in 2026.
Weighing is conducted according to the official rules of the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth. And it’s not just professional growers who can participate—hobby gardeners are also welcome to bring their giant pumpkins to the competition, provided the specimens arrive in Klaistow in one piece. After the championship, the largest pumpkins remain on the farm and can be admired there until the end of pumpkin season. If you’d like to do more than just marvel at the giant pumpkins, be sure to mark November 1 on your calendar . At 2 p.m., the so-called “pumpkin butchering” will take place . During this event, the giant pumpkins will be cut up with knives and saws. Visitors can even try to get their hands on seeds from the award-winning pumpkins to grow them themselves later.
