Nature is beginning to breathe again, to bloom, and to unfold its full splendor in radiant colors . Just last Saturday, Breitscheidplatz was transformed into a sea of flowers made up of 50,000 tulips. And even though this spectacle is already over, you can currently admire the blooming cherry trees during leisurely strolls through the city. However, if you want to experience a display of flora on an even grander and more impressive scale, you should leave the city behind. In the Uckermark region of northeastern Brandenburg, in the village of Grimme near Brüssow, a vast lavender field stretches out. The wide, tranquil landscapes offer ideal conditions for growing lavender and give the area the charm of a “little Provence of Brandenburg.”

The Lavender Farm is a family-run project that has been built up with great dedication. Lavender has been cultivated here since around 2017, with the cultivation areas gradually expanding. Today, several fields span multiple hectares, where tens of thousands of lavender plants grow . In addition to a large main field, there are also smaller plots where various lavender varieties are tested. Cultivation is deliberately carried out in a natural way and without the use of chemical fertilizers. This not only ensures the quality of the plants but also promotes biodiversity, as numerous insects, especially bees, benefit from the lavender fields.
The lavender farm is particularly impressive during the blooming season, which usually lasts from late June into July . During this time, the fields transform into an intense sea of purple blossoms, accompanied by a pleasant, aromatic scent. Visitors can stroll between the rows, soak up the special atmosphere, or simply unwind.

In the summer, visitors have the opportunity to cut lavender themselves and learn more about its cultivation. Often, you can take home bundles you’ve picked yourself or purchase them at a reasonable price. The experience is complemented by guided tours, workshops, and various events centered around the plant.
The farm also produces and sells numerous lavender-based products. These include syrup, liqueur, honey, oils, cosmetic products, as well as scented sachets and decorative items. During the season, lavender-infused foods and beverages are often available, such as lavender ice cream or lemonade.
