Spring has arrived in Berlin! It brings with it not only warmer weather and longer days. Berlin’s cherry blossoms are also beginning to sprout in the most beautiful shades of light pink, declaring war on the infamous gray winter. As in Japan, admiring the cherry trees is a real event in Berlin, so grab everything you need for a good picnic and make yourself comfortable under the beautiful trees: We’ll show you the six best places in Berlin to celebrate spring.
1. TV Asahi Cherry Blossom Avenue

Right next to the Berlin Wall Trail, where the Wall once stood, there is now a path where both tourists and Berliners enjoy strolling and passing the time. And between Lichterfelder Allee and Japan Eck, you can marvel at countless cherry blossom trees. The trees stand so close together that they form a canopy of cherry blossoms.
📍 Location: Mauerweg, 14513 Teltow
2. At the Zeiss Planetarium

You’ll also find some cherry trees on an offshoot of Ernst-Thälmann-Park. Right in front of the planetarium, you’ll find some of these beautiful trees, which are best viewed from the adjacent meadow. Insider tip: While you’re here, be sure to visit the planetarium, where you can marvel at distant galaxies through a telescope.
📍 Location: Prenzlauer Allee 80, 10405 Berlin, Germany
3. Riverbank in Treptow

White and pink cherry blossom trees line the shore heading toward Treptower Park. Here, you can escape the hustle and bustle of Neukölln and suddenly find yourself surrounded by nature. A little peace, beautiful blossoms, and plenty of greenery—that’s how quickly relaxation can happen.
📍 Location: Treptower Park, 12435 Berlin
4. Schwedter Straße

If you’d like to admire the cherry blossoms near Mauerpark, you can take this tip with you right away. Because Schwedter Straße is home to a veritable splendor of cherry blossom trees. And with the TV Tower in the background, it makes for a great photo opportunity!
📍 Location: Schwedter Str., 13355 Berlin
5. Cherry Blossom Trail

Right nearby, you’ll also find the Cherry Blossom Trail, not far from the Bösebrücke. It stretches for several hundred meters right next to an allotment garden, which only adds to the idyllic atmosphere. If you continue walking south from here, you’ll reach the aforementioned Schwedter Straße and Mauerpark, where you’ll also find plenty of beautiful trees.
📍 Location: KGA Bornholm I 1, 10439 Berlin
6. Sea of cherry blossoms in Schöneberg

A green traffic island in the middle of Schöneberg promises—at least in name—a whole sea of pink blossoms. A stroll here is also well worth it, for example to the nearby Rudolph-Wilde-Park, where you can soak up even more nature.
📍 Location: Hewaltstr., 10825 Berlin
7. Gardens of the World – Cherry Grove

The Gardens of the World feature a beautiful cherry grove with several dozen Japanese ornamental cherry trees that bloom entirely in pink in the spring. The trees were planted around the Japanese garden and form a particularly photogenic walking path during the blooming season. Especially during cherry blossom season, the park becomes a popular spot for spring walks, picnics, and photos. The atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of Japanese hanami traditions, where people gather under the blooming cherry trees to celebrate spring.
