They not only bathe the atmosphere and the entire surroundings in vibrant colors and create a special ambiance, but are also among the most beautiful decorations at folk festivals. While Berlin is already hosting its most traditional spring festival and numerous other blossom highlights—such as stunning cherry blossom spots or the region’s most diverse tulip show —are drawing crowds, one event stands out this season: by far the largest blossom festival in Brandenburg and also one of Germany’s largest folk festivals— with endless highlights. The 147th Tree Blossom Festival in Werder (Havel) takes place from April 25 to May 3 , spanning several days filled with blossoms, enjoyment, and a varied program of events.

The Werder Tree Blossom Festival is celebrated every year during the fruit blossom season in Brandenburg’s “Little Venice” and uniquely combines nature experiences, tradition, and a lively folk festival atmosphere. Its origins date back to 1879, when visitors were first invited toexperience the region’s blossoming orchards. Even today , the orchards are in full bloom, with regional products—and especially fruit wine—taking center stage. At the same time, the festival has evolved into a major event where a relaxed natural vibe alternates with the exuberant bustle of the festival. Particularly appealing is the constant shift between tranquil gardens and lively festival areas.
The Tree Blossom Festival program is divided into several sections. The most important and, at the same time , most authentic part consists of the orchards and gardens, which are open throughout the entire period from April 25 to May 3. Around 30 fruit orchards invite visitors to enjoy fruit wine, homemade cakes, and regional specialties. Visitors sit among blossoming cherry and apple trees and can experience the countryside in a relaxed atmosphere. The experience is complemented by blossom tours by bus or traditional horse-drawn carriages. This part is considered the most beautiful and authentic of the entire festival.

Starting April 29, the fairground and children’s area add another dimension to the festivities. In areas such as the Mühlenberg or on the island, a classic fairground with rides and stalls takes shape. At the same time, special offerings for families ensure that a successful blend of fair and family-friendly event unfolds here.
The Werder Tree Blossom Festival finally reaches its climax from May 1 to 3 with the grand folk festival. During this time, areas such as the festival mile around the Hohen Weg and the Bismarckhöhe transform into a bustling event grounds with live music, stages, and over a hundred stalls. Beer gardens, street food, and a lively party atmosphere characterize this section, which is also the largest and most visited part of the entire festival.
Special program highlights in 2026 include the Tree Blossom Run on April 26 and the Tree Blossom Ball on April 24, which traditionally kicks off the festival and features the crowning of the Tree Blossom Queen. The festival often concludes with a grand fireworks display—though this may vary from year to year.
