Only two more days until we say goodbye to 2025. A year full of ups and downs – and in Berlin, the city that never sleeps, there was a lot going on as always. The good news is that we don’t have to say goodbye to life, shows and exciting entertainment in the capital. Quite the opposite. January already promises great things: 2026 gets off to a very promising start with the first ever regular NBA game in Germany. But before that happens, it’s time to celebrate the new year. You don’t have a fixed plan yet, are looking for inspiration at short notice and are running a little late? No problem – we have some great ideas for you.
The city’s most famous techno club is already waiting in the wings with a hot New Year’s Eve line-up. You can party there for days on end and spend your first days of January on the dancefloor. But for those who like it more elegant and glamorous, there is a much more stylish alternative than Dum-Dum-Dum: the Wintergarten Varieté presents a unique program on 31 December. The evening begins with the spectacular Flying Lights Show and ends punctually at midnight with the Bohème Sauvage № 138 New Year’s Eve Ball, which will take you dancing into the year 2026.

Flying Lights is a breathtaking show spectacle that captivates the senses and soul in equal measure. Staged by innovative choreographers, top international artists and world-famous dancers, the Flying Steps unleash their iconic language of movement on the stage of the Wintergarten Varieté. A firework of energy, elegance and emotion is created in the premises of the exclusive variety theater in the heart of Berlin (Potsdamer Straße). Light and movement are at the heart of the production: modern dance, ultra-modern LED lighting technology, acrobatics, visual effects and live music merge to create an intense overall experience. In the midst of pulsating beats and spectacular light images, scenes are created that will stay with you for a long time. The highest acoustic quality is also guaranteed – including impressive live cello sounds.
As the evening is all about New Year’s Eve, the theme of light, with all its dazzling facets, is particularly in focus. The show starts at 6 p.m. on December 31 and lasts 160 minutes. After this sparkling, vibrant and magical performance, the show continues seamlessly: celebrate the New Year in style at the Bohème Sauvage № 138 New Year’s Eve Ball. What better way to welcome 2026 than with a ball night in the splendor of the 1920s and 1930s?
Andrej Hermlin and his Swing Dance Orchestra will provide the authentic sound. With additional stage shows, a photo studio and a casino with roulette, blackjack and poker, you’ll feel like you’re in a movie from a bygone era. Record entertainers, an absinthe bar and dance floors for Charleston, tango, foxtrot, waltz and, of course, swing round off the experience. The ball starts at 11 pm, the dress code: 20s. Last-minute tickets are still available via the official website.
