Are you an asparagus lover? Then this is your event of the year! Spring already brings numerous highlights, from Brandenburg’s largest flower festival to one of Germany’s biggest rhododendron festivals and the region’s most famous tulip festival. But what happens when April and May are over? Time flies, so it’s worth planning ahead for summer now, and one event definitely belongs on your list: The Beelitz Asparagus Festival in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district is one of the largest and most popular events of its kind in Brandenburg. In 2026, it will take place from June 5 to 7, staying true to its traditional date on the first weekend in June.

The event spans three days and is completely free for visitors. It marks the highlight of the asparagus season in Beelitz, one of Germany’s most famous asparagus-growing regions. During this time, the entire town transforms into a mix of a folk festival, a food event, and a city festival. With tens of thousands of visitors annually, the Asparagus Festival is one of the largest and most popular events in Brandenburg.
During the festival weekend, the city park in particular becomes the central event area, with a strong party and culinary atmosphere. You can expect several stages featuring live music and concerts, as well as a bustling market with regional products. There will also be street food and asparagus dishes in a wide variety of styles. The Old Town courtyards will also open their doors, offering food and insights into local culture. Rounding out the experience are asparagus farmers and regional producers who will showcase their products right on site—with a clear focus on the “white gold,” fresh from the field.

The Asparagus Festival is also a major music event with a varied program. On Friday, the weekend kicks off with DJs and a lively party atmosphere. Saturday features bigger live acts, including international artists. Sunday rounds out the festivities with more concerts and a closing program. Acts such as Milli Vanilli and Right Said Fred have been announced for 2026.
A central highlight of the program is the grand parade on Sunday, which winds through the historic district of Beelitz. Decorated floats, along with clubs, schools, businesses, and asparagus farmers, parade through the streets. The parade is traditionally led by the Asparagus Queen and the famous asparagus pyramid —a true visual highlight.
