Numerous bars also define the landscape of Neukölln, a district that is particularly characterized by its cultural diversity. The bar scene is correspondingly diverse, characterized by creativity, variety and a certain idiosyncratic charm. You can also find our bar guide for the Districts Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg.
All-round talent
Speaking of variety: Paolo Pinkel in the depths of Neukölln is an absolute jack of all trades. Somehow, this chic establishment manages to nonchalantly juggle all the criteria for bar, mini-club, café and restaurant. In addition to excellent cocktails with interesting twists, you can also enjoy a dinner menu with a choice of three cuisines: Cypriot, Thai and Sicilian. The all-round experience is rounded off by live DJ sets, which can be expected here at the weekend in particular. Breakfast is also served irregularly and is the perfect way to wind down after a night out.

Historically charming
The Nathanja & Heinrich is less exciting but no less charming. The bar has an enchanting rustic style with lots of brick and worn wood, which is almost steeped in history. Nevertheless, the nostalgic interior and decor create an incredibly cozy atmosphere. On the menu you’ll find the usual suspects of beer, long drinks and cocktails – not a particularly exciting offer, but all the drinks are pretty well prepared!

Kings, Queens & Criminal Queers
Silverfuture has been a center for queer culture in Neukölln since 2007. The bar in the heart of the nightlife district is known for its outspoken and colorful character with lots of glitter. Here, too, you can expect the usual drinks on the menu, as well as live sessions by artists and FLINTA, comedy, karaoke and drag nights. In short: You’re guaranteed not to get bored drinking here!

Experimental intoxication
The Velvet Bar doesn’t quite live up to its name because you’re actually visiting a laboratory rather than an ordinary bar. The owners place a high value on seasonal and regional ingredients, which results in cocktail creations that you won’t find anywhere else in Berlin. No ingredient is too weird to become part of a sophisticated and finely tuned cocktail creation. This results, for example, in drinks with a hearty tomato base, marjoram infusion or with a hint of fig leaves. Not necessarily cheap but an absolutely unique highlight in the Berlin bar scene!
📍Ganghoferstraße 1, 12043 Berlin
Herbology in Rixdorf
Mr. Lindemann is similarly seasonal and regional. The saying “There’s an herb for everything” is taken very seriously here, resulting in exciting drinks based on (medicinal) herbs that you won’t find anywhere else! The atmosphere is very down-to-earth and cozy, with lots of plants and velvet upholstery. Fun fact: Towards the end of the 19th century, the eponymous Mr. Lindemann was the owner of a herbal manufactory that had to close due to his experiments with psychedelic herbs.
Twin Peaks in Berlin
Named after the shadowy location of the 90s series, you will find an interesting themed bar in the Black Lodge. The majority of the bar is modeled on the Red Room from the series. Accordingly, you can expect a black and white herringbone arch and lots of heavy, red curtains that wrap the bar in a mysterious atmosphere. Episodes of the series are also on loop in the back room for real fans. The menu is dominated by classic drinks, which are offered with spirits in various price ranges.
Truffle pig instead of white rabbit
To find the Truffle Pig Bar, you have to go on a search for Wonderland. It is hidden in the back room of the Kiezbar Kauz & Kiebitz and is normally hidden from the public eye – at least until now! They can only be found by following the footsteps of pigs, walking through a mirror and pressing the button on the fire alarm. The scavenger hunt is rewarded with a dark and mystical atmosphere, which we don’t want to give too much away, and playful drinks!

Booze and Brunch
The Geist im Glas bar is undoubtedly a great place for drinks in Neukölln. You can expect lots of creative creations that you won’t find anywhere else. At the weekend, the Geist is also transformed into a brunch bar. Theoretically, you could go from evening to morning and stay for breakfast – provided you don’t get swept out beforehand!
