Berlin has offered a huge selection of vegan food for years—and the variety continues to grow. From 100 percent vegan, Buddhist-inspired Vietnamese cuisine to Germany’s first all-plant-based REWE supermarket, there have long been numerous options for anyone who follows a vegan diet or simply wants to try something new. Now there’s a very special event to add to the mix: On Saturday, September 5, 2026, Future Maps is hosting an extraordinary vegan brunch at the Haus der Visionäre . This is about much more than just a shared breakfast: Together with more than 700 participants, the organizers aim to break the current world record for the largest vegan potluck brunch.

The concept is simple: Participants bring a vegan dish of their own to contribute to the communal buffet. This way, hundreds of different dishes will come together to be shared among everyone. Instead of traditional catering, the buffet is created by the people attending the brunch themselves. The event will take place at the Haus der Visionäre, located at Eichenstraße 4A in Berlin-Treptow. This well-known event and music venue is located right on the water, providing the perfect setting for a large communal vegan picnic.
Anyone who wants to attend the event for free must bring a vegan dish for the communal buffet. Whether it’s cake, pastries, salad, a spread, or a savory dish is entirely up to the participants. In addition to the food, attendees should also bring their own dishes and cutlery. Furthermore, the ingredients and any potential allergens in their dish must be labeled so that other visitors can see what’s in each dish.
You can participate in the event even without preparing anything for the buffet yourself. In that case, however, admission costs 20 euros. Those who contribute a vegan dish, on the other hand, get in for free. The number of participants plays a crucial role in the planned world record attempt. More than 700 people are expected to gather on Saturday to share the dishes they’ve brought and enjoy brunch together.
However, anyone who wants to be officially counted as part of the world record attempt must register in advance. While it’s generally possible to drop by spontaneously and bring a dish, that alone isn’t enough to be counted toward the actual record attempt. Therefore, the event is, first and foremost, a world record attempt. Whether the target record has actually been broken can only be determined after the event or upon receiving the appropriate confirmation.

The brunch itself begins at 11 a.m., but the day’s program kicks off in the morning. Doors open at 9 a.m., and at 9:30 a.m. , a group morning yoga session with The Base Club will begin . Afterward, of course, much of the focus will be on food. In addition to the massive potluck buffet , live cooking demonstrations, tastings, and various food specials are planned. Among those participating in the live cooking demonstrations are The Green Mountain and REWE.
In addition, there will be live music as well as products, tastings, and other goodies from various partners. Goodie bags have also been announced for participants. This makes the event far more than a traditional restaurant brunch. Rather, the goal is to create a large community event that combines shared meals, music, exercise, and a day by the water .
