Berlin is a place to be at any time of year – but when the beautiful markets open in winter, it becomes particularly magical. Festive atmosphere, sparkling places, delicious smells and more. The well-known annual
Christmas markets are back again this year, opening one after the other. But the city is also providing a few new winter surprises, including a new 400 m² ice rink where you can glide through a sparkling forest fairytale. But the special features don’t stop there: On November 29 and 30, a special winter market will take place at the former Tegel Airport, awaiting you right next to the old freight canteen with great highlights. Between mulled wine, music and unique airport views, you will find yourself in a new Berlin Christmas dimension that fits the city like a glove.

The Berlin collective Khisdapaze has already taken over part of the former Tegel Airport this year. The first open-air parties with DJ sets, a stage program and more took place there in September. The takeover of TXL is set to be even bigger in the new year – a permanent club operation is planned, which should provide the city with an extraordinary party experience. Raw, urban aesthetics as we know them from Berlin – but clubbing directly on the runway is definitely something new.
But before the club feeling arrives in spring 2026, it’s time to enjoy mulled wine with a view of the runway. A new winter market will be held here on the first weekend of Advent. And you’ll find everything you need to get into the Christmas spirit: from atmospheric music, mulled wine and non-alcoholic drinks to handmade products, arts and crafts and gift ideas. The winter Christmas experience is complete here – before December even starts in Berlin.

So keep November 29 and 30, 2025 free (Saturday 2-10 pm, Sunday 12-8 pm) and enjoy an event that not only celebrates the winter season, but also stands for openness and inclusion. And you don’t have to worry about your wallet – admission is on a donation basis.
