It’s no longer news that Berlin’s club scene is considered legendary worldwide. From Berghain to KitKat to Tresor: The capital’s clubs are internationally renowned; everyone wants to get in at least once, is daunted by the strict door policies, and wonders what goes on behind those infamous doors. And that’s by no means the whole list: Numerous other Berlin clubs have made a name for themselves internationally. Now this reputation has been confirmed once again: In a new 2026 ranking by “Time Out,” Sisyphos was voted the best club in Europe.

The British lifestyle magazine Time Out published its list of the ten best clubs in Europe in September 2026. To compile the list, the magazine surveyed local nightlife writers and experts from various European cities and asked each to select the best club in their city. Time Out itself points out that this is a subjective selection intended to serve as a guide to the nightlife in the respective cities.
Berlin’s Sisyphos took first place. This means the club in Berlin-Rummelsburg was named Europe’s best nightclub in this “Time Out” ranking. Sisyphos is located at Hauptstraße 15 on the grounds of a former factory where dog treats used to be produced. Time Out describes Sisyphos as a kind of “permanent summer festival.” According to the magazine, the club’s special appeal lies particularly in its large outdoor area and its various dance floors. Sisyphos features five stages or dance floors and a large open-air garden. This creates an atmosphere that is more reminiscent of a festival or a small parallel world than a classic Berlin nightclub.

The concept combines relaxation and partying. Visitors can move between different music areas, spend time in the garden, or retreat to quieter areas. Musically, the lineup includes techno, house, and disco, among other genres. Time Out also notes that a night at Sisyphos can easily stretch on for many hours into the next day.
Dress code also plays a role in Time Out’s description. The magazine recommends not necessarily showing up in the typical Berlin club look of all black, but instead opting for an extravagant and eye-catching outfit . As an example, Time Out mentions a pink faux fur jacket paired with zebra-print pants. Neon colors and bold prints would also fit the club’s style.
However, this doesn’t mean that a specific outfit guarantees entry. The outfit tip should be understood more as a recommendation for the Sisyphos style rather than a guaranteed way in. Another part of the club’s unique concept is a photo ban. According to Time Out, no photos are allowed at Sisyphos, which means that part of the experience deliberately remains off Instagram and other social media platforms.
Sisyphos’s festival-like atmosphere has a long history. The club was established on the site of a former dog-biscuit factory and was taken over and further developed by artists starting in 2008 . Its original DIY character remains part of the concept to this day. Above all, the large outdoor area has become an important part of the club.
