While the prices at the Christmas markets in the city can be wild – in some places a mulled wine costs up to €7.50 – there are also events that serve a good cause. For example, the charitable association “Santa Claus on Road e.V.” is organizing a Christmas bike tour on 13 December, with hundreds of Santas jetting across Berlin. On their festively decorated scooters and motorcycles, they not only create an impressive cityscape that exudes a special Christmas flair and increases the anticipation of the festive season. They are not just there to spread festive cheer – they ride with a clear goal: to help fellow citizens in need in Berlin.

The gifts are financed from donations as well as from the proceeds of their own activities and are delivered directly to those in need without unnecessary administrative effort. This year, the Berlin Christmas Biketour will once again take place on the 3rd of Advent, with two institutions joining forces to bring joy to people in need and distribute gifts from personal wish lists – especially warm clothing and essential hygiene items. The countdown is on: There are only 8 days left until the big bike tour, where the whole city can watch this charitable action and we can all remember the essentials at festive time.
Anyone can take part, the conditions are very simple: you and your scooter, trike, quad or bike should be decorated for Christmas. You can’t take part but would still like to support us? No problem – any donation, whether in the form of money to buy presents or by giving a gift directly, is a valuable help. Just take a look at the association’s website!
