In the southern Black Forest, not far from the village of Breitnau, a fairytale Christmas setting opens up beneath the 40-metre-high viaduct of the Höllentalbahn railroad. Over 40 wooden stalls present regional crafts and Black Forest delicacies, while a sea of red, blue and green lights bathes the village of huts in an almost magical glow. And when a train glides over the gorge, it feels like you’ve been transported straight into a movie scene from Harry Potter.
The Christmas market in the Ravenna Gorge unfolds its festive atmosphere every year. As you stroll between the stalls, you can feel the magic of this place with every step: selected handicrafts, unique handmade items and the aroma of warm Black Forest specialties accompany you like a gentle winter river.

As befits a true Christmas tradition, a huge Christmas tree sits enthroned in the middle of the market, making the eyes of young and old alike light up. The highlights also include a crib trail, where the various stages of the Christmas story are told – a perfect Christmas rally for the little ones, lovingly and atmospherically staged by artists. The rustic Zollhäusle also has its own program for children – as you can see, a visit to the Christmas market in the Ravenna Gorge is ideal for a winter family trip.
