Our current favorite activity? Christmas markets – and we’re only just getting started. Some are already open, others start on November 24. In addition to the classic markets where you can find mulled wine, bratwurst, lights and decorations, Berlin has much more to offer – after all, it doesn’t have to be the same every year. Highlights include a new 400 m² ice rink, where you can glide through a sparkling winter forest, and a Christmas market at the former airport, where you can enjoy your mulled wine with a view of the TXL runway. And that’s not all: at Holy Shit Shopping, everything mainstream is thrown overboard. Berlin’s new location, CRANK, will be transformed into a creative department store on November 29 and 30 – with a focus on design, innovation and subculture.

Under the motto “Ciao tinsel! Hello future!”, the organizers of Holy Shit Shopping invite you to Berlin’s most unconventional Christmas market. It’s all about creativity and inspiration – a place where you can discover truly unique gift ideas. On the 1st weekend of Advent 2025, CRANK will be transformed into a large creative department store where selected international designers and artists will present extraordinary lifestyle products. The event is no longer an insider tip: it has been considered the “mother of all design Christmas markets” for 20 years. What once began as a small market in Café Moskau is now one of the permanent highlights of Berlin’s pre-Christmas season. Around 15,000 visitors flock to CRANK in Berlin-Neukölln every year. The brutalist architecture provides the perfect stage for creative concepts and unusual ideas.
In keeping with the motto, the organizers focus on a sense of the future rather than nostalgia – with a focus on innovative creative industries, sustainable production methods and social commitment. It is therefore not just another Christmas market that decorates the festive season, but one that takes a stand. Over two days, you can discover and purchase high-quality products from the worlds of fashion, jewelry, furniture, art, literature and photography. Looking for the perfect gift – or want to treat yourself? Then you’ve come to the right place. Berlin DJs will also be providing relaxed beats that will transform Holy Shit Shopping into an urban after-work experience.
