The Christmas market season in Berlin has been in full swing since last weekend at the latest. Christmas Avenue is definitely one of the best winter activities: Celebrate queer Christmas in Berlin here! The capital’s largest and only queer Christmas market will take place at Nollendorfplatz from November 24.
Every day until December 23 (Monday to Thursday 4pm to 10pm, Friday to Sunday 3pm to 10pm), a contemplative but unusual festival awaits you under the elevated tracks of the subway. Because Berlin wouldn’t be Berlin without everything the LGBTQIA* scene has to offer. Away from the mainstream Christmas hustle and bustle, this queer Christmas offers you a varied stage program and a completely different winter feeling: a Christmas world in rainbow colors.
Queer Christmas for more diversity and respect

Christmas Avenue was originally created in Cologne and came to Berlin six years ago. Since then, however, the queer Christmas market has become an integral part of Berlin’s Christmas season. Here you’ll find lots of glitter and kinky Christmas gifts. But the well-known culinary delights and various market stalls with fashion, design and art are also on offer.
The queer Christmas market is a place of warmth, visibility and community, as this year’s patron, pop singer Marianne Rosenberg, emphasizes. “We don’t just celebrate here – we take a stand. Together we are sending a clear yes to diversity, respect and humanity”.
Acceptance and freedom of movement are at the forefront and are so high that admission is restricted to visitors aged 16 and over. All traders and artists should be allowed to present their offerings in all facets of queer visibility.
From music to drag bingo: this is what you’ll find in the program

Various actors from the Berlin scene will perform in the daily stage program. Musically, there is something for every taste: rock, pop and classical music as well as electronic beats. Karaoke, drag bingo and daily drag shows also await you.
Special party nights take place during the week. These include “Happy Hour” on Mondays, “After Work” on Thursdays and “Aperol o’Clock” on Sundays. Queer associations and initiatives take the opportunity to present their work and projects. The queer Christmas on Christmas Avenue also ensures that important issues in the community are more visible and discussed.
By the way, you don’t have to worry about bad weather. Christmas Avenue is located under the elevated U2 line and is also protected from wind and rain. A queer Christmas market is more than just mulled wine stands: it is a place of acceptance and celebration without hiding.
