Need a break from everyday life? Sit back in a cozy Berlin café, read a good book, and discover new food trends along the way, or zoom down the hill on the city’s only summer toboggan run: From relaxing to adventurous, Berlin offers a wealth of possibilities. The most relaxing of these , however, is something quite different—a spa that’s anything but ordinary: the LIQUIDROM. The centerpiece of the spa is the DOME 36, a large saltwater pool beneath a striking concrete dome. The water is constantly heated to a pleasant 36 °C, inviting you to let yourself drift and completely tune out the hustle and bustle of the big city for a moment.

Thanks to the salt content, your body experiences additional buoyancy while lying in the water, creating a feeling of weightlessness that lets you float relaxed on the water’s surface. The truly extraordinary experience, however, awaits beneath the surface. Music is transmitted into the pool via a special underwater sound system . So you can submerge your ears underwater and experience the music in a completely different way. At the same time, the concrete dome is illuminated with atmospheric lighting, causing water, light, architecture, and sound to merge into an immersive experience . The Liquidrom therefore views this space less as a traditional swimming pool and more as a unique experiential space.
The experience is made even more extraordinary by the regularly scheduled Sound Sessions. Currently, they take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. During these sessions, Berlin-based and international DJs spin electronic music that can be heard both above and below the water’s surface. Musically, the program ranges—depending on the evening — from deep house and house to melodic and Afro house, all the way to ambient, downtempo, and experimental electronic music. So this isn’t just a spa with electronic background music playing. Behind the Sound Sessions lies a curated DJ program featuring rotating artists and musical genres.
In September 2026, for example, the lineup will feature sets from the genres of mixed house, organic house, deep house, Afro house, indie dance, and melodic techno . The regular Sound Sessions are already included in the standard admission price.

That’s precisely what makes the Liquidrom so special. The concept straddles the line between Berlin’s nightlife and a wellness experience. During the Sound Sessions, there’s neither a traditional stage nor a typical club show. Instead, the music and the DJs become an integral part of the overall atmosphere.
During the sets, you’ll swim or float in the warm saltwater, hear the music partly underwater, and gaze up at the atmospherically lit concrete dome above you. This is where electronic music, light installations, architecture, and wellness come together. So you get a little taste of that Berlin club vibe—except you’re not standing on a dance floor, but floating in a 36-degree saltwater pool.
In addition to the DOME 36, there are several other wellness areas. These include an outdoor onsen with warm saltwater, a grotto, and various sauna and heat treatments. Among other options , there’s a 90-degree Hot Room, a 65-degree salt room, an 80-degree Kelo sauna, a steam bath, and a cold-water pool . You can also book massages and various bodywork treatments. This makes the Liquidrom ideal for a longer wellness stay. So you can spend several hours there and combine your visit to the music pool with the sauna, outdoor pool, and other relaxation options .
