Admittedly: Romantic places are not necessarily something you associate with Berlin. But the capital also has its charming corners. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we want to give you a little inspiration. Do you want to confess your love to someone? Or simply spend a few romantic hours with your partner? Then how about a date at one of these top romantic locations in Berlin.
Romantic places in Berlin: Monbijou Park
The Monbijoupark on Museum Island is always busy. No wonder, because the view of the magnificent Bode Museum is breathtaking – especially at night. The numerous bridges that lead to Museum Island are ideal places for romantic dates in Berlin. Wrap up warm, tuck a bottle of sparkling wine under your arm and off you go. We particularly recommend the promenade opposite the Bodemuseum. There are some seats right by the river, some with an overgrown canopy!
Little Venice
Yes, who would have thought it? Berlin has its own little Venice to offer. So you can save yourself the next trip to Italy. Tiefwerder, a small village with many meadows and canals, is located in the district of Spandau. Here you can take a leisurely stroll along the canal and marvel at the small canals and boats. Ideal for a romantic day trip.
Romantic places in Berlin: Charlottenburg Palace
Although the magnificent castle is currently closed, the sight alone transports you to another world. We imagined it to be something like this: Enjoy the romantic view of the castle with a bottle of red wine and then take a lovely winter stroll through the beautiful streets surrounding the castle.
Gendarmenmarkt
The historic Gendarmenmarkt in Mitte is probably the most beautiful square in the whole of Berlin and offers a special atmosphere for a romantic date. Here you can sit down comfortably on one of the benches and have a small picnic. The view of the German Cathedral, the Konzerthaus and the French Cathedral is unbeatable.
Island of youth
The small, romantic island is located at the end of Treptower Park in Alt-Treptow and can be reached via a small pedestrian bridge. The island offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Spree and the surrounding meadows and forests. So grab your bikes and head off to one of Berlin’s romantic spots.
Or a little away from home?
Alternatively, we can warmly recommend a visit to the many Lakes in the Berlin area recommend. Wrapped up warm and equipped with everything you need for a good picnic, you can enjoy a romantic evening at sunset.
