Pizza as a favorite dish? We couldn’t agree more! What could be better than taking that first bite of warm, crispy crust with melted cheese? After all, Berlin offers pizza in every variation—from authentic Italian to the thicker American style, with a wide variety of toppings. But have you heard of the biggest pizza in town? And by big, we don’t mean a family-sized pizza, but one with a diameter of about a meter and weighing roughly five kilograms. You can get this at the Villa Rixdorf restaurant in the heart of Neukölln— and it’s definitely not for a light appetite.

The dough alone of the so-called “Giant Pizza” weighs in at around 2.5 kilograms. First, it’s rolled out and then stretched by hand on a special baking sheet until it reaches its impressive size. You can only order the pizza for groups of at least eight people, as it is intentionally designed as a communal experience. The classic Margherita starts at around 45 euros, though the price may vary depending on the toppings chosen.
The toppings work just like on a conventional pizza—only in XXL format: on a Funghi version, for example, up to 1.5 kilograms of mushrooms end up on the dough. Chef Roberto’s goal is to create a pizza that truly fills everyone up—and he succeeds, because so far hardly anyone has managed to finish it.
Fun fact: One guest is said to have eaten about three-quarters of the pizza all by himself —but after that, he couldn’t eat another bite.

Villa Rixdorf is located on Richardplatz in Neukölln—one of the most charming and historic spots in the neighborhood. The restaurant’s atmosphere perfectly matches its location: relaxed, slightly rustic, and ideal for larger groups. In addition to Berlin’s largest pizza, you can also get regular-sized pizzas here, as well as authentic Italian pasta and antipasti. The menu is rounded out by grilled and seafood dishes. When the weather is nice, the beer garden with its large terrace is also a great place to linger.
