The Altlandsberg Palace Estate is a historical gem in the Märkisch-Oderland district, just about 24 kilometers from Berlin’s city center. Where the future Prussian King Frederick I once spent his youth, visitors today are greeted by a lovingly restored Baroque complex. It uniquely combines Prussian history, culture, and regional delights.
A royal estate full of discoveries

Although the actual residential palace was destroyed over the centuries, there are fascinating historic buildings to discover on the sprawling grounds. The centerpiece is the Baroque palace church, built in the 17th century by Imperial Baron Otto von Schwerin. Following a comprehensive renovation, it now serves as a modern event and concert venue.
Right next door, the restored manor house invites visitors to linger; it also houses the city information office. The large estate courtyard and the adjacent Baroque gardens offer plenty of space for walks, markets, and open-air events such as the popular Palace Park Festival. Those wishing to explore the surrounding area will also find this the ideal starting point for cycling and hiking tours through the natural landscapes of the Mark.
Liquid tradition in the historic brewery and distillery

A very special highlight for connoisseurs is the “Schwerin Brewery” from 1685. After long serving as a government office and a period of disrepair, the striking brick building now shines in new splendor. Since 2016, beer has once again been brewed here in the traditional estate style.
The on-site brewery and distillery produces craft, unfiltered beers strictly in accordance with the German Purity Law. Visitors can stop by the rustic vaulted cellar or the terrace to sample regional classics.
The permanent lineup includes the “Altlandsberger Edel Hell,” the spicy “Cupfer,” and the dark Schwarzbier “Nachtwächter.” The selection is complemented by seasonal bock beers as well as fine, house-distilled beer brandies and liqueurs. Schlossgut Altlandsberg thus impressively demonstrates that living history and Markish hospitality can be superbly combined.
