Too early for Christmas stuff? Of course, we’re still in the midst of fall fever, with plenty of pumpkin-themed highlights and pumpkin spice lattes. But it’s never too early to start looking forward to the most beautiful markets of the year— after all, the first one starts as early as October 31! The Spandau Christmas Market is one of Berlin’s most traditional Christmas markets and will open its doors for the 50th time in 2026.

From November 23 to December 22, 2026 , Spandau’s historic Old Town will be transformed into a vast Christmas wonderland. The numerous market stalls and festive lights are spread out around the market square, Breite Straße, and other areas of the Old Town. One of the market’s most distinctive features is its sheer size. Up to 400 market stalls await you in Spandau’s Old Town. There you’ll find Christmas decorations, arts and crafts, and gift ideas, as well as numerous culinary specialties. The market stretches around the market square and St. Nikolai Church, making the medieval-style Old Town a special backdrop for a Christmas stroll.
The Spandau Christmas Market also features a medieval market. Among the festively decorated stalls, you can discover historic market booths and traditional crafts. Some artisans demonstrate their work right on the spot, adding even more variety to the experience. Another highlight is the large Christmas tree, around which the festive Christmas scene in the Old Town is centered. For families, there’s also a nativity scene with live animals, which is sure to bring a sparkle to the eyes of younger visitors in particular.

Of course, the classic Christmas market treats are a must. As you stroll through the old town, you’ll find roasted almonds, bratwurst, and mulled wine, as well as other sweet and savory specialties. If you’re looking for an activity beyond eating and strolling, you can also try your hand at curling in 2026. Two curling rinks will be available on Reformationsplatz. Rinks can be reserved online, while available slots can also be booked on-site, according to Berlin.de.
A varied stage program also provides entertainment throughout the entire event. As a result, in addition to shopping and food stalls, the Christmas market offers a variety of activities for visitors. The Spandau Christmas Market is open daily starting at 11 a.m. From Sunday through Thursday, you can visit until 8 p.m., while on Fridays and Saturdays, it stays open until 10 p.m. Admission is free.
