Foodies have it good in Berlin. From Europe’s largest food hub to culinary world tours every Thursday to the city’s popular Thai Park Market —there’s truly something for everyone here. Whether it’s German home-style cooking or dishes from the other side of the world: In Berlin, you can find just about anything when it comes to food. And if you also want to experience the latest food trends in a particularly modern setting , the capital is at the forefront anyway. Right in the heart of Potsdamer Platz , KERB Berlin is currently one of the city’s most spectacular new food halls. The massive, two-story complex is located , of all places, in a former IMAX theater in today’s Center at Potsdamer Platz, bringing a slice of London’s street food culture straight to Berlin.
Behind the concept is the British company KERB, which achieved cult status in London with the famous Seven Dials Market Food Hall. Berlin is now the first international location outside the UK. The location alone makes the place special. Where moviegoers once watched blockbusters on a giant screen, a futuristic food world now stretches across two floors, featuring open kitchens, bars, neon lights, and vast seating areas. The design deliberately draws on the former cinema atmosphere: old projection rooms, popcorn aesthetics, light installations, and the dramatic architecture of the former IMAX building have been partially preserved and given a modern interpretation. As a result, the space feels more like a mix of a movie set, a London market hall, and a Berlin club lobby than a classic food court.
Hummus Studio is one of the newest food concepts at KERB Berlin on Potsdamer Platz and brings a rather unusual concept to Berlin: chef-plated hummus and Mediterranean mezze served via a conveyor belt—almost like a mix of a mezze bar, fine dining, and a modern food hall concept.

Culinary-wise, the food hall brings together many well-known Berlin street food concepts under one roof. Butter Bronsons is currently generating a lot of buzz with its award-winning buttermilk fried chicken, which is said to be extremely crispy on the outside and especially juicy on the inside. Also very popular is Fräulein Kimchi with Korean bibimbap bowls, bao buns, and Korean-inspired snacks. In addition, there are concepts like Jian Bing Town with Chinese street food crêpes, Moksa with modern Indian fusion cuisine, Grindhouse Burgers, and Japanese dessert stands.
In total, the hall currently offers around twelve different cuisines, several bars, café kiosks, as well as additional areas for events, pop-ups, and co-working. Especially in the evening, the place transforms into a sort of indoor event space with DJs, cocktails, and an after-work atmosphere. There’s also a rooftop terrace, which is likely to be very popular, especially in the summer.
