On April 21, 2026, 8 legendary basketball stars will be inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame . These athletes have contributed in an unparalleled way to the popularity and glory of basketball. That’s why they will be immortalized in the annals of sports history at a ceremony at Kraftwerk Berlin. And you can be there! There’s one athlete we know particularly well in Germany…
This is your chance to see the German MVP live: Dirk Nowitzki will be honored in Berlin

The German Wunderkind, aka Dunking Deutschman, aka Dirkules , was nominated for the NBA All-Star Game 14 times. Nowitzki was the first European to be named Most Valuable Player and the first German to win the U.S. championship!
He will be honored alongside Céline Dumerc . She led the French “Braqueuses” all the way to the finals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London with her legendary long-range shots. Also joining them is Wang Zhizhi, the first Chinese player in the top American leagues. Hedo Türkoğlu is the first player born in Turkey to establish himself permanently in the NBA. Clarisse Machanguana, a pioneer of African sports, was the first Mozambican woman to play in the top leagues of Europe and America.
You’ll also get to see Ludwik Miętta-Mikołajewicz , first a successful player and later the coach of Wisła Kraków, currently the top-ranked team. As a dominant force in South American basketball, Ismenia Pauchard led Chile to numerous continental titles and is a national sports icon in her country!
And none other than Sue Bird will be honored! The five-time Olympic gold medalist is one of the greatest playmakers of all time and won four national championships with the Seattle Storm.
