Christmas Day is here and you’re already thinking about what you can do outside your own four walls? Spending time with your family and loved ones is the most important thing – but once you’ve enjoyed a meal together, the question often arises: what else is there to do outside for Christmas? By this point in December, you’ve usually already seen most of the Christmas markets. You want something special, something that will make this Christmas truly unforgettable. Ice skating, curling – all well and good, but probably the most magical experience in the city is hidden away in the Botanical Garden. The Christmas Garden Berlin takes you on a two-kilometer circular route into a glowing winter wonderland. Millions of lights, magical installations and a festive atmosphere are waiting to be discovered.

Berlin’s sparkling winter trail returns to the Botanischer Garten Berlin every year, transforming it into one of the most beautiful destinations for the whole family. Impressive light installations, magical light tunnels, glowing moonlight meadows and imaginative scenes – all this awaits you during your visit. In addition, large water and fountain shows will put a sparkle in the eyes of young and old alike. For the kids, there is a nostalgic carousel alongside the magic lights, while interactive light shows and a Christmas rally ensure fun for the whole gang. The Christmas Garden Berlin is therefore not only a place to marvel at, but also to join in and experience.

On your circular route, you will pass numerous highlights, including the audiovisual installations at the Great Tropical House and in the Italian Garden. Various stations such as “Liebesweis”, “Herzensangelegenheit” or “Spieglein, Spieglein…” with integrated photo boxes invite you to capture your special moments forever.
The Christmas Garden in the Botanical Garden has been open since November 19, 2025 and can be experienced until January 11, 2026. It opens its doors from Monday to Thursday and on Sundays from 16:20 to 21:00. The Christmas Garden will be closed on December 31 and January 5 and 6, 2026. Tickets are best booked in advance – prices for adults are around €23.
