There are many Christmas markets in Berlin, but how about one with spice? Germany’s spiciest Christmas market is taking place this weekend! In addition to unusual markets – such as the creepy Christmas market or the one about “Stranger-Things” – another one is joining the ranks of less classic winter moments. We’ll tell you how the Chili Christmas Market will bring you that special spiciness.
A Christmas market with a difference

That’s right: where there’s spiciness, chili is usually not far away. This is also the motto of the Berlin Chili Fest, which has already taken place several times in Berlin. Now it is bringing its Christmas edition to the capital. For once, the coming Advent weekend will not be dominated by sweet treats.
Instead of roasted almonds and classic mulled wine, visitors will find a wide range of hot sauces, chili products, spices and more. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. In keeping with the pre-Christmas season, the Chili Christmas Market also offers spicy mulled wine .
Ready for a spicy treat?
If you don’t just want to taste your way through the world of chilli, but are more performance-oriented, you can take partin spicy competitions. Specifically, you can compete in the “Chilli Eating” or “Hot Chicken Wings” category. The winners of the competitions receive various prizes. You can also bring your own sauces, as the best hot sauce in Berlin will also be decided here. Maybe yours?
The organizers make sure that the Chili Christmas Market is family-friendly. The program therefore also includes face painting and making your own lollipops. Or you can simply learn how to paint chillies and listen to live music from the invited DJs. Even those who don’t tolerate spiciness well can test their way through the world of chili!
You can find the Chili Christmas Market on December 6 and 7 in the Kalle Halle Martkhalle, from 11 am to 9 pm. Admission is free, but donations to cover the costs of the event will be gladly accepted. Are you ready for (perhaps) the spiciest weekend of your life?
