In Berlin, we’ve long been accustomed to the sad news that yet another club has to close because the rent has gone up, the building is slated for demolition, or attendance has dried up. But this year, there’s finally some good news! Club Rosa reopened back in September, and this Friday, the newly redesigned Club [119] is celebrating its grand opening at 119 Storkower Straße in Prenzlauer Berg.
Behind the doors, starting October 23, 2026, you can expect a mix of international techno, immersive light installations, and a custom-designed sound system. The opening weekend kicks off this week, featuring a wide range of electronic music and catering to anyone looking for authentic Berlin club culture with a fresh new look.
What You Can Really Expect at the New Club 119

Club [119] aims to set new standards for Berlin’s nightlife. Across two distinct dance floors, raw industrial chic meets the finest acoustic architecture. At the heart of it all is the main area, where a room-filling LED ceiling pulses in sync with the bass. For a breather, there’s a spacious outdoor area that will be generously expanded in the summer. Kicking off what we hope will be a long club history are DJ Traytex, Shanda, Rill, Hontas, DEV, TRIS, BBetriebswirt, and Choreophila.
A tribute to the KvU

The new venue is located on historic grounds: the space was previously home to the legendary Kirche von Unten (KvU). The KvU was founded in 1987 as an oppositional Protestant group in the GDR and served as a central refuge and meeting place for East Berlin’s subculture, punk scene, and political dissidents. Even after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collective remained a defining space for concerts, theater, and socio-cultural activities. After the KvU was forced to leave the commercial building in the spring of 2025, the new operators are now breathing new life into this historic site. They have deliberately preserved the historic building structure and relics to make the venue’s heritage tangible within the club’s concept.
If you’re taking public transportation, simply take the U5 subway line to the Frankfurter Tor station and walk the remaining five minutes. If you’re driving, it’s best to take Frankfurter Allee and head for the parking spots in the surrounding residential area.
