There are plenty of unique dining experiences in Berlin. From a modern restaurant inspired by a legendary kiosk from the Bonn era—measuring just 20 m² —to a hidden, password-protected cocktail experience in an old bank archive —there’s something extraordinary for every taste. But the most exciting experiences don’t always have to take place on the ground, because high above Berlin’s rooftops, the dining scene also has a lot to offer. Sphere Tim Raue is located in Berlin’s TV Tower on Alexanderplatz at a height of 207 m. According to the operator, this makes it the highest revolving restaurant in the European Union.

While you’re seated at your table, it’s not the entire TV Tower that rotates, but only the restaurant level. The restaurant completes a full rotation in about 60 minutes. So, over the course of an hour, you get a complete 360-degree panoramic view of Berlin right from your table. Today, the restaurant is called Sphere Tim Raue and combines the extraordinary view with a culinary concept by top Berlin chef Tim Raue. The focus is on Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as dishes inspired by Raue’s personal history and his memories of his grandmother Gerda’s cooking.
The concept deliberately differs from the Asian-inspired fine dining for which Tim Raue is best known. Instead, Sphere reinterprets Berlin classics and regional specialties . The current menu features, for example, solyanka, Königsberger Klopse, Berlin-style pork schnitzel, Rote Grütze, and Bienenstich. The interior design also draws on the history of the Berlin TV Tower. The design is partly inspired by the former Tele-Café and combines retro elements with a modern aesthetic. It blends echoes of the 1970s jet-set flair with the style of a Pan Am lounge from that era.

What’s particularly extraordinary is that you can enjoy breakfast at a height of 207 meters as early as 9 a.m. The breakfast menu is available daily until 11 a.m. The regular “Sphere Breakfast” costs 25 euros. It includes, among other things, a selection of Brandenburg cheeses, cooked ham, salami, liver sausage, house-cured salmon with horseradish dip and cucumber salad, jam, a berry smoothie, fruit salad, and white and whole-grain rolls with butter.
Since the restaurant floor rotates continuously, the view changes constantly during breakfast. From your table, you’ll see Alexanderplatz, Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral, the Spree River, and the Red City Hall glide past the window. On a clear day, the view extends well beyond the rooftops of Berlin.
The Sphere Tim Raue is located in the Berlin TV Tower at Panoramastraße 1A, right on Alexanderplatz. The restaurant and observation deck are currently open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Breakfast is served until 11 a.m.
