Plan ahead and secure the most beautiful surprise for your loved one. We'll show you how you can get to the sea with lots of love—without having to travel.
Just one month to go until Cupid shoots his arrows again and everything is all about romance. If you want to give your partner, date, or favorite person something really special on Valentine’s Day, it’s worth planning early – before the best experiences are fully booked. Of course, Berlin offers countless possibilities: first-class restaurants for candlelit dinners, cozy cinemas for movie nights, and many other ideas. But if you want to make February 14th something really special this year, you should leave the big city behind for a while. Whether it’s an exclusive rose dinner in one of Brandenburg’s oldest aristocratic castles or an atmospheric adega evening in the most elegant castle in the Spreewald – at Lübbenau Castle, you can enjoy a Valentine’s Day dinner with a maritime theme that will take you on a culinary journey from mainland Portugal to the island of Madeira.

The “Valentine’s Dinner by the Sea” will take place on February 14, 2026, at Lübbenau Castle and costs €78.00 per person (drinks not included). It starts at 6 p.m. in the azulejos-decorated orangery, where you can enjoy the flair of a Lisbon adega to the fullest. The menu has been created exclusively for this occasion and consists of an extraordinary selection of Portuguese seafood – the so-called “seven waves.” In numerous tasting bites from Portugal’s land and sea, you will take a culinary journey from the coastal towns to the fresh sea breeze of the high seas to sunny beaches and islands. Each wave has its own name, such as “Vespers on the Beach” with sand pralines and baked goods from the farm and garden, “Sailing on the High Seas” with seafood ice cream, lobster, and monkfish, or “Sweet Surf” with passion fruit parfait and almond tart for coffee.

And after this wonderfully romantic dinner, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to end there: with a package including two nights’ accommodation with breakfast, dinner on Friday, Valentine’s Day dinner on Saturday, and other extras, you can spend the whole weekend at the castle – almost like a mini honeymoon in the Spreewald. All the information is available here at a glance!
If you want to make the experience even more perfect, you can top off your Valentine’s Day getaway with a ballet evening in Berlin: “Ballet of Lights” retells the story of Sleeping Beauty in a sparkling production of light, music, and dance – a romantic finale that takes the magic of this special weekend to a whole new level.
