In the summer, life moves outdoors —including brunch, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. There are plenty of wonderful options in and around Berlin: from dinner right on the water at Rivo to breakfast in a hidden garden. But if you’re looking for a truly special experience, you should plan a trip to the Spreewald. Just about an hour from Berlin, you can enjoy breakfast on the water there and soak up that authentic vacation vibe— almost like being in Italy. The breakfast boat ride in the Spreewald is one of the region’s most extraordinary experiences.

The tour starts at Spreehafen Burg and lasts a total of two hours. As the barge glides silently through the labyrinth of branching waterways, a lovingly set breakfast table awaits you. The spread includes fresh rolls, croissants, or whole-grain bread; a variety of cold cuts and cheeses; jam; scrambled eggs; fresh fruit; and coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. You’ll also be greeted with a glass of sparkling wine. During the ride, the ferryman will share fascinating stories about the Spreewald, its centuries-old tradition of barge travel, the unique cultural landscape, and life in the sprawling scattered settlement of Burg-Kauper.
The breakfast boat tour begins at Spreehafen Burg in the town of Burg (Spreewald) in Brandenburg. From there, the route winds through the idyllic scattered settlement of Burg-Kauper, which—with its widely scattered farmsteads, small wooden bridges, and numerous natural waterways—is one of the most beautiful areas of the Spreewald. The private boat tour lasts two hours and offers plenty of time to enjoy breakfast at a leisurely pace and discover the landscape from the water.

The breakfast boat tour is offered from May through September. Since space is limited, advance reservations are required. For groups of one to six people, the boat tour costs a flat rate of 150 euros ; breakfast is charged separately at 19.50 euros per person. For groups of seven or more, the total price is 41.50 euros per person, with breakfast already included.
The boat tours are conducted primarily in German. However, tours in English can also be arranged upon prior request. In general, people with limited mobility can also participate in the breakfast boat tour. However, the organizer recommends coordinating any individual requirements with the Spreehafen Burg harbor office well in advance of booking.
