But you don’t have to break the bank or wait in line for hours: The adventure park in Paaren im Glien, Brandenburg, is less than an hour from Berlin, right in the heart of the idyllic Havelland region. Both kids and adults will find plenty to enjoy on the 22-hectare grounds. At the various playgrounds, you can climb, slide, and swing, or explore the lovingly crafted wooden sculptures. From May through September, the Water World—with its small ferries, windmill, and solar power system —offers the perfect way to cool off, especially on warm days. And on the multi-purpose area right next to the Panorama Pavilion, you can ride bikes, pedal cars, electric cars, skateboards, or rollerblades . And since all that action works up an appetite, you can refuel properly at the brewery tavern with its restaurant .
Lots of animal fun at the ARCHE Pet Park

The adventure park in Paaren is home to the only certified ARCHE Farm Animal Park in Brandenburg. Here you can see rare and endangered breeds of farm animals from the region—from Thuringian Forest goats and Red-and-White Husum pigs to Skudden sheep, Cröllwitz turkeys, Giant Rabbits, and raccoons. Since 2014, the GEH-certified park has been committed to preserving these heritage breeds. Here, you can get up close and personal with the animals, learn more about their care, and feed them using the designated vending machines . You can even sponsor an animal.
Exciting events every season
In addition to the 10 exciting attractions on the grounds, various events are offered throughout the year. Highlights include the Brandenburg Agricultural Fair, popular garden markets, and the Havelland Harvest Festival. The fireworks championship, which lights up the evening sky over the park, is sure to give you goosebumps. During school breaks, a colorful vacation program awaits kids —featuring hands-on activities and nature workshops. There are also regularanimal shows, nostalgic tractor rallies, and various family festivals.
Practical Information
The Paaren Adventure Park is located in Schönwalde-Glien, just about 50 minutes northwest of Berlin. From the capital, the best way to reach the park is by car via the Berliner Ring (A10, Falkensee exit) —parking on-site is convenient and free. Alternatively, bus line 671 takes you directly from the Rathaus Spandau S-Bahn and U-Bahn station right to the park’s gates (Berlin fare zone C).
Hours of operation are Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On regular days without major events, admission is 5 euros per person; it’s a good idea to bring some cash for the ticket office and food and beverage stands . (No card payments accepted!) If you have dogs, you’re allowed to bring them on a leash onto the spacious grounds.
