Today, Tuesday, November 3, several road closures are in effect simultaneously in Berlin: An international security conference is bringing parts of Lichtenberg, City West, and the government district to a standstill. In the evening, closures on the A115 and in the Alexanderplatz Tunnel will be added. Anyone traveling today should check their route in advance.
Security Conference: Road Closures in the Government District
According to police, extensive road closures are in effect due to the conference, particularly in Lichtenberg, City West, and the government district. Waterways in the government district and Berlin’s airspace are also closed.
There are also changes to local transit. The U5 will temporarily not stop at the Bundestag station. On the S-Bahn loop, service is limited. Anyone who needs to travel to these areas should allow extra time and check the current schedule information before departing.
A115: Closed at night between Zehlendorf and Funkturm
The A115 is closed in the direction of the Funkturm interchange between the Zehlendorf junction and the Spanische Allee exit, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day. The closure will remain in effect until the night of November 5–6.
Drivers are taking the B1 (Potsdamer Chaussee) toward the A103. This also applies to rush-hour traffic still on the road shortly after 9 p.m.
Alexanderplatz Tunnel: Overnight Maintenance
The tunnel at Alexanderplatz on Grunerstraße is closed in both directions due to maintenance work from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. During this time, traffic will be rerouted above ground. This may lead to increased traffic around Alexanderplatz in the evening.
U2: No stops at Senefelderplatz through March 2027
Unlike the other announcements, this change does not apply only to today. U2 trains heading toward Pankow will not stop at the Senefelderplatz station until March 12, 2027. Passengers who wish to get off there should ride to Eberswalder Straße and take the U2 back from there.
