Anyone planning a walk, an al fresco lunch, or a bike ride today should definitely seize the opportunity: Wednesday, October 7, is bringing Berlin what is likely to be the last dry and mild fall day for the time being. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures in Berlin and Brandenburg will rise once again to as high as 22 degrees.

However, a significant change in the weather is already on the horizon overnight into Thursday. Rain clouds are moving from Saxony-Anhalt toward Berlin and Brandenburg, bringing precipitation with them. At the same time, temperatures will drop significantly, falling to as low as 8 degrees overnight. Thursday will start off wet as a result. Rain is expected initially in Berlin and Brandenburg, with significantly lower high temperatures ranging from about 14 to 19 degrees. Over the course of the afternoon, the rain will gradually clear from the west, so it will become increasingly dry afterward. On Thursday night into Friday, it will remain mostly dry and continue to cool down: Lows will be only 5 to 7 degrees.
On Friday, the unsettled and noticeably cooler fall weather will continue. The day will start out cloudy, and rain is expected again. Isolated wind gusts may also occur. Daytime highs are not expected to exceed 13 to 15 degrees —meaning the highs will be up to nine degrees lower than Wednesday’s.

Isolated showers are also possible early on Saturday night. Temperatures will range between 8 and 10 degrees. As the day progresses, the rain will move eastward, and the cloud cover may clear up somewhat in places.
The bottom line is this: If you want to enjoy one last bit of mild and dry October weather, you should make the most of Wednesday. Starting Thursday, an umbrella and a jacket will once again be essential. Looking ahead to the weekend, your forecast suggests rather changeable or mixed fall weather.
