There is a real miracle cure for Berlin’s gray winter coat: pure light therapy! The Christmas Garden in the Botanical Garden is the perfect refuge to escape the darkness and feel the magic of the festive season.
Since November 14, the garden has once again been bathed in a sea of artistic light installations that will transport visitors to a sparkling winter wonderland until January 12, 2025. Here, the gray is forgotten, the cold becomes a minor matter and hearts light up.
Highlights in the Christmas Garden
Every Christmas Garden is a new experience: this year, a total of over 30 illuminations will transform the circular path in the Botanical Garden into a magical, illuminated Christmas world, which will be enhanced by Burkhard Fincke’s soundtrack.
At the entrance, glowing angels fly over your heads, fireflies dance through the treetops and neon illuminations blaze up the trees at Electric Wood. Light art and sound design merge seamlessly in the 60 spiral-shaped light sticks of the Rainbow World. Classics from previous years also return. These include the popular sea of lights, which dances to the music with 28,000 light-emitting diodes.
Fancy a prize?
If you pull out your camera or cell phone during your visit, then watch out! You can upload your best pictures to Instagram with the hashtag #ilovechristmasgarden. Gifts are up for grabs: a trip to the Christmas Garden Barcelona 2025 for two or tickets for one of the German Christmas Gardens at the location of your choice.
There will also be plenty of culinary delights: warm up with a cup of mulled wine or hot chocolate in the Christmas Garden Lounge and enjoy the view of the festively illuminated Italian garden. If you’re feeling peckish, there are sweet and savory treats to round off your stroll perfectly.
As if that wasn’t reason enough for joy, the Christmas Garden team also focuses on environmental awareness: Thanks to efficient LED technology in the light installations and path lighting, up to 80% of electricity is saved. Shorter opening hours and other measures reduce overall electricity consumption by an additional 30%. What does that mean? Each visit consumes about as much energy as a cup of coffee. A real ray of hope – in the truest sense of the word!
